JAM SessionsJam Sessions are professional development (faculty development) sessions offered through UC Clermont's Academic Affairs, Instructional Design & eLearning (IDeL) team.
Similar to "jam" sessions where musicians gather together to combine their talent and skills with other musicians to make new music, IDeL Jam Sessions bring faculty and staff together. Through this collaboration, faculty and staff share their talent and skills on topics such as technology integration, pedagogical strategies, DIY instructional video development and accessibility plans. |

eText Jam Session: Learn, Design & Share, Kickoff
January 19, 2017, eText...Learn, Design & Share, (Kickoff event for UC Clermont College eText Initiative)
The Center for Excellence in eLearning (CEeL) has loaned the UC Clermont Instructional Design & eLearning team two iMac computers hosting the iBooks Author application for professors working on interactive eTexts (digital textbooks, manuals, handouts) for their courses.
Jason Day (Sr. Instructional Technologist & Apple Foundation Trainer) along with Kent Meloy (Creative Team Director, CEeL & Filmmaker/Musician) have been traveling to UC Clermont to lend their support to professors and staff developing eTexts as part of the university-wide initiative.
In this Jam Session, Jason and Kent will be sharing the background on “UC eText Initiative” and how you can join in. Faculty and staff are building “eText” most ever day to support their courses, help notes/handouts. It’s possible that many educators have authored numerous eTexts but just haven’t had time to get their eTexts available through their bookstores or to share online.
In addition to Jason and Kent, Elicia Flom (Director, Instructional Design & eLearning, Sr. Instructional Designer) and Scott Liming (Instructional Media Specialist) will be on hand to share planning resources to help organize the text, photo, video components into an eText that supports formative assessment, and interactive components.
